Happy August everyone! I hope you’ve had some time to enjoy summer and that business has been exceptional! This will be my last “Letter from the President” since Linda Atherton is taking over next year so I hope you don’t mind if I take a moment to thank the other Board Members and our wonderful staff for all their hard work, dedication, and wonderful ideas. We have a great team and they all made my job very easy this year.

I hope you are planning on attending the August show. In addition to all the great lines and hospitality that you can find in our members’ showrooms, our temporary vendors will also be in the MART so you can enjoy the convenience of having everything under one roof. In addition to that, please be on the lookout for our new Guest Ambassadors who will greet you as you come in to the mart, answer any questions you may have, offer a complimentary bottle of water, and give you a flyer outlining what is happening that day. We are also bringing back the Buyer’s Appreciation Party and Retailer Summit Seminar which were so popular last August. Of course it wouldn’t be a show without the ever popular Spin to Win, free breakfasts, daily giveaways, lobby music, and much more. I think it is going to be a great event!

As always, we have our ideas, but we want to hear yours too. With that in mind, we will again be sending a survey after the show to ask you how we did. Please take a moment to reply to that survey, it really does matter. You can also give us feedback any time by clicking the comments tab on our website www.mplsmart.com. All comments are confidential to the Board of Directors and we would love to hear from you.
